What is Department of Fine Arts and Media Sciences?

Many business managers today consider art to be important, and are working on it as an attempt at corporate management strategies, such as new product development and employee training. The museum boasts a painting studio, a three-dimensional modeling studio, a media arts studio, and a digital lab specializing in art, making it one of the largest museums in Japan.

We collaborate with art museums, local governments, various organizations, and artists from Japan and abroad to undertake and constantly disseminate artistic projects that connect with society and culture.

Advanced Program
A motivational support program!
Art Fair Practice Program
In this program, the department will set up a booth at the "Art Fair Asia Fukuoka" held every September, and several selected students will exhibit and sell their works. Through this program, students who aim to become artists will be supported by working on the same level as professional artists from preparation to the actual event.

Four-year learning process
First year: Foundations of artistic expression
You will learn the fundamentals of the arts and acquire a wide range of knowledge for expression.
Second year: Study specialized art
Through assigned projects and lectures, students will learn across a wide range of artistic fields.
Year 3: Exploring Artistic Expression
Students will study their respective specialized fields in depth and develop advanced creative work and research.
Year 4: Shape your future as a writer, whether that be for employment or further education
As a culmination of four years of study, students will complete a highly advanced and outstanding piece of work.

Developing diverse ideas and creativity through painting, sculpture, and contemporary art
Using the rich learning that art has to offer as a foundation, students will acquire diverse ways of thinking, methods, and expressions within each field. On top of that, they will research the optimal methods and materials for achieving their own unique expressions, and will be trained to become artists with their own "personal perspective."

Searching for new ways of thinking and next-generation expression across five fields
There are five areas of study: media art, video art, animation, games, and manga. By deeply exploring a specific field and acquiring a wide range of both digital and analog tools, we aim to nurture creators and artists who can create a new world of media art.

The door to becoming an animation creator is here

This is an animation seminar for students who are interested in 3DCG works. We respect each student's theme and pursue their own style while developing practical skills and techniques in the class. Through the various challenges and problems that students encounter during production, we pursue "expression" and focus on the process of developing "skills" to explore the path of an artist.
