Economics is about analyzing what each of these players is thinking and doing, and clarifying the mechanisms behind them. It quickly identifies problems and solves them in the best way possible. Asian economies from various perspectives
Explaining the current situation and capturing the current state of Asia
Asian Economics | Professor Hiroko Nakahara

In the Asian Economy course, we will explain the current situation of Asian economies, which have both diversity and commonality, from various perspectives while understanding the historical background. In addition to the basic theory that explains Asian economic development, we will also grasp the ever-changing "current situation in Asia" such as technology transfer, offshoring, demographics, and consumer markets in Asia based on our experience of developing products in collaboration with companies in various Asian countries while working for a multinational corporation.
Thinking logically and strategically

Game Theory and Society | Associate Professor Masayuki Kanazaki

In the course I teach, Game Theory and Society, we train students to think logically and strategically. In situations where people's actions affect the interests of others, various negotiations arise. In such situations, game theory analyzes what actions each person will choose and what state will be achieved as a result. If the resulting state is undesirable for society, we learn how to change the rules to change the behavior of each person and create a desirable society.

By studying economic history
Understanding the Now

"Economic history" is an academic field that studies the past, but one of its main objectives is to "understand current events more deeply by knowing the past" and "thus being able to think about and, to some extent, predict future changes." In the seminar, students are divided into groups of about five people and freely choose a theme to research, report on, and discuss what traces history has left on the modern world economy and Japanese economy.
In group studies, we tackled and discussed issues such as global warming and food waste. In addition, alumni and senior students also participate in the seminar and share their experiences and job hunting know-how. I am inspired every day and working hard to pass the civil service exam.
