Research Field Overview

The department offers practical education and research in the fields of material mechanics, mechanical mechanics, mechatronics, production and processing, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, information, etc. It is always engaged in cutting-edge research, such as special seminars on energy conversion engineering, engine element design, and tribology technology, and its results have attracted international attention.

Research Topics

Robot stretcher to help people with severe disabilities move around independently

With the aim of enabling independent mobility for people with total paralysis, we aim to combine improved mobility functions such as linearity and display of surrounding images with remote control functions for devices in order to ensure operation, awareness of surroundings, physical support, and safety. We aim to create a society in which a wide range of people with disabilities can play an active role in remote employment, etc. We will develop this technology in collaboration with the fields of science, engineering, and art in order to put it into practical use.

Future vision: To be a leader in the field of nursing care robots

Research on refrigerants with low greenhouse effect

We are investigating the various properties of refrigerants (the gases used in air conditioners and freezers), which have an extremely small impact on global warming, and releasing the data needed for practical application to the world.

Future vision: Engineer working in the renewable energy field
