Architectural Design Field | Master's Program
Graduate school overview

Graduate School of Information Science

Research Field Overview

The program is divided into three areas: Structure, Planning, and Environment. In each area, practical lectures are given to meet the needs of society, and effective learning is carried out by combining classroom learning and exercises. Many studies are conducted in collaboration with the local community, such as joint research with companies and local governments, and internship practical courses, with the aim of preparing students to be immediately ready for the real world.

Research Topics

Non-destructive testing of reinforced concrete structures
Research on durability evaluation

The deterioration (durability) of existing reinforced concrete structures such as apartment buildings is a very important issue in terms of economics, the environment, and the declining birthrate and aging population. This research aims to use newly developed and existing non-destructive tests to examine durability evaluation methods, such as estimating the service life of new and existing reinforced concrete structures, and to put them into practical use.

Bauhaus School of Art and Architecture
Research on global architectural activities

The German school of art and architecture, the Bauhaus, founded in 1919, offered cutting-edge scientific architectural education at the time. After it closed in 1933, Bauhaus teachers and graduates designed modern architecture and cities based on scientific analysis all over the world. This study will clarify their trajectory.
