University Overview
Our university was founded in 1960 as a single-faculty university with the Department of Commerce in the Faculty Faculty of Commerce, with the founding ideal of "Unification of Industry and Academia academia Unification of Industry and Academia" means that "industry and academia should work together like the two wheels of a cart to meet the needs of society at any given time."
Since then, it has expanded over the years, and currently has nine faculties, 21 departments, five graduate schools, and a junior college, growing into a comprehensive university with over 10,000 students. Over 150,000 unique graduates are active in the worlds of politics, business, culture, arts, and sports.
In our "Medium-Term Plan" (2021-2030), we have set our ultimate goal as "a university leading in unique fusion education in the Humanities, Science and Art to inspire the globally active next generation, sciences, and humanities," and we are steadily expanding our business in eight areas: education, research, internationalization, industry-academia collaboration, contribution to society and the community, diversity, branding, and management foundation.
As we celebrate our 65th anniversary in 2025, we have formulated a new brand message, "Creative sensibility to shape the future. Practical skills to move the world. our faculty and staff working together as one.
Our university will continue to fulfill its mission by accelerating the development of human resources who will be active in Fukuoka, Kyushu, and the world, by producing research results that contribute to solving social issues, and by strengthening ties with the local community.
