IR promotion
attemptMessage from the Deputy Director General University reform Promotion Headquarters
Our university established the IR Promotion Office in August 2021. The purpose of the office is to support the promotion of educational reform and the planning, implementation, and verification of decision-making and improvement activities related to strengthening the management base of the academy by collecting and analyzing data from within the university in a centralized manner. As a foundation for supporting educational management, the IR Promotion Office will conduct surveys on students' learning behavior related to the acquisition of knowledge and skills, as well as their satisfaction with university life and post-graduation activities, leading to the practice of "student-centered education" and data-based curriculum and educational improvements. In addition, the office will collect and analyze information on the university's research activities and use the results to improve research capabilities and strengthen branding.
Until now, activities such as "Self-inspection and evaluation" and "FD" have been carried out mainly by the University Evaluation Office of University reform Promotion Headquarters, but a new IR Promotion Office has been established within the headquarters to build a database for making decisions regarding education, research, and management foundations of the entire university and to provide information useful for university management. In order to effectively implement and disseminate this, an "Education Program Officer Team" consisting of faculty members from 9 faculties and 21 departments has been established, and a system has been established in which faculties and departments and the IR Promotion Office work together to operate. Each department's issues and confirmation of data used in work will be shared across departments to promote IR as an organization. In April 2024, University reform Promotion Headquarters will integrate the University Evaluation Office and the IR Promotion Office into the "University Evaluation and IR Office" and launch a new "Education Planning Promotion Office" to strengthen its business execution, planning, and improvement capabilities as a department responsible for quality assurance.
In order for our university, which has as its founding ideal "Unification of Industry and Academia" to increase its presence as a local university and achieve sustainable development, we believe it is important for the university to accurately interpret the situation it finds itself in from data under the leadership of the president and to continually work to improve and enhance itself. Through IR activities, we intend to continue making efforts to establish a system for ensuring the quality of education at our university and to help achieve the vision for our 100th anniversary and the goals outlined in the mid-term plan established to realize that vision.
Vice President and Deputy Director University reform Promotion Headquarters Sen Sotetsu
