Graduate school

1. What is Pre-FD?

This is a professional development activity for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are planning to become university faculty members. The work of a university faculty member includes teaching, research, management and administration, and contribution to society, but Pre-FD places emphasis on developing teaching skills.

2. Background

◎ Partial revision of the Graduate School Establishment Standards (effective September 26, 2019)

(Making it mandatory to make efforts to implement pre-FD or provide information in doctoral courses)
Since doctoral students are expected to teach their own knowledge after graduation, the graduate school shall endeavor to provide opportunities for them to cultivate the skills necessary for this purpose or to provide information regarding such opportunities.
