On Saturday, March 9th, a presentation was held at fabbit Munakata (Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture) to present the results of the "Solving Town Issues with the Power of University Students" project.
This project, which Munakata City launched in 2021, is a demonstration project to utilize the results of university research and students' flexible thinking in urban development to solve local issues and promote revitalization. This year, 28 projects were selected, with seven projects from our university being selected and active.
On the day, 10 projects were presented, and representative students from the following four projects from our university gave reports.
・"Let's make an interactive PR video!" Munakata PR video project
Graduate School of Fine Arts "Munakata PR Video Project" group proposed an interactive PR video that can provide different content depending on the viewer's behavior and choices.
・"Oshima, the Island Protected by Gods, Art Exhibition" project
The "Resonating Art Munakata" group
from the Department of Department of Fine Arts and Media Sciences Faculty of Art and Design, worked with civic groups to set up large three-dimensional sculptures in various places on Oshima and hold an event to promote the island's charms.
・"Let the voices of young people be heard!" Survey app development project
The "EngineeArts" group from
Faculty of Science and Engineering and Faculty of Art and Design has developed an app that allows children to become interested in urban development and share their opinions.
・"Munakata brand story told by producers" project
In order to improve the value of the regional brand, the Munakata Fan Club group
Department of Regional Development Faculty of Collaborative Regional Development, conducted interviews and analysis on producers' brand launches, their commitment to their brands, and the information they provide at their cafes.
The group's representative, Ashida Yuzuki (Kitakyushu Municipal High School), said, "When we heard the survey results from a producer, he told us, 'Considering people's feelings is the best marketing,' and it was an experience that made us realize once again the importance of research and analysis."
Finally, Munakata City Deputy Mayor Kono said, "Today is the starting point for us to work toward creating a sustainable city that everyone can enjoy."
