[17 people passed!] Food 6th Industry Producer Qualification

In the Food Science course Faculty of Life Science Department of Life Science, students can take the required courses and earn credits to be certified as a "Food 6th Industry Producer (commonly known as Food Pro)."

The "Sixth Industrialization of Food Producer" is a national strategic professional certification based on the "Practical Career Up Strategy" promoted by the Cabinet Office, with the aim of certifying and developing human resources who will be responsible for the sixth industrialization of food. The qualification certifies the professional level required to create new businesses in the food sector, such as developing processed products using local agricultural, forestry and fishery products, selling directly to consumers, and opening restaurants, through the integration and collaboration of production (primary industry), processing (secondary industry), and distribution, sales and services (tertiary industry), in six stages based on two aspects: knowledge and practical skills.

As a result of this year's certification examination, 17 students from the course passed "Level 2" and "Level 1"!

Adachi Seiri (Chikuzen High School), a fourth-year student in the course, said, "I took all the subjects required for the certification application, such as 'Introduction to Sixth-Generation Industry', 'Animal and Fisheries Biology' and 'Food Processing', and deepened my knowledge of the sixth-generation industry from various angles, from knowledge of food hygiene, such as how to reduce the risk of food poisoning, to cost calculations. I would like to use this qualification to develop products that will help reduce food waste in the future."

By cultivating talent with both specialized food knowledge and practical skills, our university will continue to contribute to regional revitalization and food development.
