Taiwan's Ministry of Education welcomes overseas training delegation from the "Youth Ten Billion Overseas Dream Fund" program

From November 24th (Monday) to 27th (Thursday), the university welcomed 15 high school students participating in an overseas training program under the Ministry of Education of Taiwan's "Youth Ten Billion Overseas Dream Fund Program," and Lecturer Sadakata Atsuo of the Department of Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty Faculty of Science and Engineering, gave a special lecture.

This training is a human resources development program implemented by the Taiwanese government with the aim of broadening the international perspective of young people in Taiwan and utilizing their creativity and vitality in cooperation with the international community. This time, it was implemented by Fukuoka Prefecture as a collaborative project between the Taiwanese government and Fukuoka Prefecture, and our university accepted the participants at the request of the prefecture.

During their stay at our university, the students participated in original programs such as a special lecture on semiconductors and the creation of electronic curtains, as an experience of science and engineering classes at a Japanese university. On the final day, they experienced the creation of an electronic roulette using a PIC microcomputer together with students enrolled in the faculty's unique "SMArtFusion Program." As the work progressed, with international students from our university assisting as interpreters, each group seemed to be enjoying themselves by communicating in English and using translation devices.

A Taiwanese trainee said, "The teacher's explanations were easy to understand, and the hands-on lessons were very enjoyable! In the joint classes with university students, we were able to exchange a variety of information, including about clubs at Japanese universities, so it was a great training experience." The cross-border collaborative learning opportunity appears to have been a meaningful time for the participating high school students and students from our university to exchange knowledge of each other's cultures and fields of expertise.

Our university will continue to contribute to the development of global human resources through international exchange programs.
