
On Tuesday, November 25th, Associate Professor Yasuhiko Isami of the Department of Housing Department of Housing and Interior Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, was invited to give a workshop on the theme of "Building Blocks and Lighting" at the Fukuoka City Branch of the Japan Childcare Association's "Design" training course for childcare facility staff at the Citizen Welfare Plaza (Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City).
Associate Professor Isami has been working on activities that combine "building blocks and light" since attending a workshop at the Children's Environment Society.In this training, after a lecture on the difference between light and illumination and the mechanisms of reflection and shading, participants were divided into groups to create works with a Christmas theme.
Participants commented, "I usually make things with children at the nursery school using building blocks, but I've never used light before, so it was a new experience for me," providing an opportunity to provide new ideas that can be used in childcare settings.
