On Friday, July 4th, at the poster session of the 9th Academic and Technical Exchange Meeting of the Kyushu Branch of the Society of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Sanitary Engineers of Japan, held at Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, a presentation titled "Survey of the Living Environment in Elementary School Gymnasiums" by Haruki Hosomi (Higashi Fukuoka High School), a fourth-year student in the Department of Department of Housing and Interior, won the Branch Director's Excellence Award.

This award is given to researchers who have made particularly outstanding presentations among the research introductions and technical presentations given by students and companies.

This research is about the residential environment survey before the installation of air conditioning equipment in elementary school gymnasiums, and the survey has been promoted by the Harumi Kagawa Laboratory as KSU Project-based Education since 2016. The next students to take over the research will investigate after the air conditioning equipment is installed and clarify the difference in the indoor environmental physics before and after the installation.

The award winner, Hosomi, said, "This was my first time participating in an event like this, but it was very helpful. I would like to use the experience and learning I gained from this presentation in the future."
