The first batch of students from Global Food Business Program is working on the "Munakata Oshima Food Story Project" (selected and implemented by Munakata City as the "City Problem Solving Project with the Power of University Students" in 2023). This project involves covering the "food" of Munakata Oshima and creating and disseminating a booklet that summarizes its appeal.
In September 2023, to learn about the island's "food," students conducted on-site research, including interviewing people on the island about the island's food culture, agriculture, and fishing. After that, in the "Basics of Global Food Business" class, students wrote manuscripts based on the interviews they had conducted. They shared these with each team and considered the overall structure of the booklet and the layout of the photos they had taken. The book is currently in the final stages of editing! It is scheduled to be completed in March 2024.
The book is packed with real information from what the students have seen and tasted, including ingredients that have long been familiar to the people living on the island, and the connection between local cuisine and culture. Please look forward to the publication!
