On Sunday, November 16th, the third installment of wall art created by Lecturer Mizuma KeikoDepartment of Visual Design Faculty of Art and Design and five students was introduced at the Sasaguri Commerce and Industry Festa.
The theme of this year's project was "connections" and "expansion." Through their fieldwork, the students realized that the charm of Sasaguri Town lies not only in its abundant nature and tourist attractions, but also in the warmth of the people who live there. They expressed this feeling by drawing silhouettes of townspeople holding hands, representing "connections." They also divided the fun that can be experienced in Sasaguri into five categories: "touch," "hear," "see," "learn," and "experience," and incorporated patterns symbolizing tourism, culture, and nature into the silhouettes of the people.
Furthermore, the image of a chestnut carrying a thorn represents "expansion," imagining a future in which the appeal of Sasaguri spreads beyond the town. The entire work depicts people, nature, and culture coming together in a single circle.
The students said, "We hope this work will make visitors think, 'This town is warm and welcoming,' and 'I want to come back again.'"
We hope that through Ilgasa, the appeal of Sasaguri Town will spread even further.
