At the Cygames Creative Contest 2025, hosted by Cygames, Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) with the aim of nurturing the next generation of creators, the work "Nice to meet you" by a team of third-year students from the Department of Department of Visual Design Faculty of Art and Design, won the School Award.
This contest is one of the largest creative contests in Asia and consists of six categories, including character illustration, background illustration, and game content, with a wide variety of works submitted from all over the country.
The award-winning "Nice to Meet You" is a three-minute animation about the everyday life of a young girl and her mysterious creatures. It was praised for the smooth movements of the characters and the good tempo that matched the music used.
On Wednesday, March 4th, Haruka Iwakiri, the company's contest manager, visited our university to report the award and provide final feedback to team representative Haruto Arima (3rd year Department of Visual Design, Faculty Faculty of Art and Design /Seika Gakuen High School). Iwakiri commented, "It was a wonderful piece that really captured the cuteness of the characters. I hope you will continue to create many things that you love," and Arima said, "I am very happy to receive the award. This was the first time we worked as a group, so it was difficult to bring together the different preferences of each member into the work, but we were able to complete the work successfully. After graduation, I will be working at an animation production company, so I would like to use this experience to be successful in the field."
