On Thursday, May 23rd, Natsuki Ando, a graduate of our university and active in the wheelchair rugby world, who was selected to represent Japan in last year's wheelchair rugby tournament, visited our university along with the representative of his team, Fukuoka Dandelion, Takashi Hori, and paid a courtesy visit to President Misayoshi Kitajima.
Ando discovered wheelchair rugby while studying at the Department of International Management, Faculty of Business Administration, and began his competitive career. After graduating from the department in 2018, he worked as a mental health and welfare worker before turning professional in 2023.
He then represented Japan in the International Wheelchair Rugby Cup Paris 2023, held in Paris from October 18th to 22nd last year, and won third place in the world.
After reporting on the tournament, Ando and Hori briefed President Kitajima on the current state of the parasports world. They then exchanged opinions with the university's Student Affairs Department about collaboration between para-athletes and students as part of DE&I initiatives.
Ando is currently training hard with the aim of being selected to represent Japan at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in August.
Thank you for your support.
