On Thursday, December 21st, Kyushu Sangyo University and Kyushu Sangyo University, Zokei Junior College of Art and Design signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Sue Town (Kasuya District, Fukuoka Prefecture) agreeing to cooperate with each other to promote town development utilizing their respective resources, as well as to advance academic development and develop human resources.
At the signing ceremony, Sue Town Mayor Hiramatsu Hidekazu said, "We hope that this agreement will deepen the ties between the two parties, by helping young people demonstrate what they can do and the abilities they have in the community, and how much of an impact this will have on the town and contribute to its culture."
In response, University President Misayoshi Kitajima stated his aspirations, saying, "We would like to contribute to the development of Sue Town, the promotion of academics, and human resource development," while Junior College President Odabe Kota stated, "We would like to continue to operate as a practical learning environment where what we learn can be connected to society."
In addition to being contracted to provide support for the operation and management of community buses and advising on the introduction of renewable energy sources, our university has also been involved in art activities in the town, such as creating murals under the Kyushu Expressway overpass and holding exhibitions and workshops at the Kuga Memorial Hall.
This agreement is expected to lead to further development of both parties, such as by serving as a hub for industry-academia collaboration rooted in the local community and utilizing university research to solve local issues.
