The 4th KSU Pedia Quiz Championship was held

On Tuesday, October 21st, we heldthe 4th KSUpedia Quiz Championship, a quiz competition tackling various terms used in our classes. 

"KSUpedia" was created to collect terms related to the university's education and research, promote learning that integration of humanities, sciences, and arts, and deepen interest in a wide range of academic fields. 

This year, individual and pair competitions were held. A total of 25 students participated, with 13 students competing in the individual competition and 12 students in six pairs competing. Questions were chosen from the "A-to-Ta" rows of terms listed in "KSUpedia," and participants used their knowledge and quick thinking to try out a variety of quizzes.

The winners in the individual competition were Tanaka Nogumo (Munakata High School), a fourth-year student Faculty of Life Science Department of Life Science, and in the pairs competition were Izumi Kaito (Amakusa Technical High School), a fourth-year student in the Department of Department of Electrical Engineering Faculty of Science and Engineering Faculty of Science and Technology, and Katsuki Akari (Meiko Gakuen High School), a fourth-year student Faculty of International Studies of Culture, Department of International Studies of Culture both from the "Arts and Sciences Team."

Izumi, from the "Arts and Sciences Team," who won the pairs competition, utilized the logical thinking skills he developed in the Department of Department of Electrical Engineering to demonstrate his strengths in technical questions. "We divided the team into sections and assigned people to take charge of each area, and we made advance preparations. Repeated quiz practice using AI also helped us to organize our knowledge," he said. Katsuki utilized his studies in Department of International Studies of Culture and his experience as a disaster recovery volunteer to take on the culture and society questions. "When studying terms from KSUpedia in pairs, I was able to focus on conveying what I understood to my partner as 'live information,'" he said.
