The first FD training seminar, "Educational Skills in the AI Era," was held.

On Friday, October 31st, the first Faculty Development Training Session, "Strengthening Educational Skills in the AI Era," was held, with Professor Siriwut Buranapin, Associate Professor at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, as the lecturer.

This workshop included practical lectures aimed at teaching staff on how to effectively incorporate AI tools into lessons and design AI-assisted learning experiences, as well as specific instructions on how to operate and set up various AI tools.

In addition to explaining the features and main functions of various AI tools, he demonstrated a conversation with an AI in interactive mode. Participants also participated in hands-on practice sessions on language and privacy settings, and creating exam questions, which the participants enthusiastically participated in.

During the question and answer session, in response to a question such as, "I want students to gain knowledge from their mistakes, but because completed works can easily be obtained by AI, we are exploring ways to deal with this. How is this being implemented at Chiang Mai University?", Mr. Okumura replied, "To provide a better learning experience, it is important to consider how to utilize AI and to learn critically. For example, one method we could consider is to show students images created by AI and have them share their impressions, and then have them actually take photos so that they can feel the difference between the images created by AI and those created by AI."

For participants, the event provided a practical learning opportunity for them to learn how to safely and effectively utilize various types of AI in the educational field.
