Faculty of Commerce hosted the "Fukuoka Prefectural University Festival"

On Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th, Faculty of Commerce hosted the "Fukuoka Prefectural University and School Festival" at Daimyo Garden City in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City.

This event was attended by universities from across Fukuoka Prefecture, and aims to deepen exchanges with the local community through planning, exhibitions, and performances by students. Led by second-year students Faculty of Commerce at our university, they were divided into three teams - the Planning Team, the Public Relations Team, and the Corporate Team - and prepared for the event from April to September.

The food stalls featured five interactive booths for children up to elementary school age to enjoy, including shooting gallery, yo-yo fishing, and bracelet making. The students analyzed the age groups and interests of the visitors and focused on creating a space where parents and children could enjoy themselves with peace of mind. The venue was filled with smiling children and was bustling with activity all day long.

Furthermore, to contribute to the liveliness of the area, local food trucks were invited to the event, offering a wide variety of dishes and helping to promote the appeal of the event.

For many students in the corporate group, this was their first experience collaborating with a company, and despite struggling with the many things they had to decide, such as the event content, budget, and targeting, they sent emails to over 100 companies asking for their cooperation. Takayae Kota, a second-year student from the same department (Tokai University Fukuoka High School), who served as the group leader, said, "I realized how difficult it is to start an event from scratch. Through this experience, I learned the importance of having contact with society, and it has strengthened my awareness of finding employment. I would like to actively participate in internships in the future."

The planning team also had a hard time negotiating with the stage performers, but they held numerous meetings over the summer vacation and worked hard to make the event a success. Nene Hanada (Fukuoka Women's Commercial High School), a second-year student in the same department who served as the team leader, reflected on the activities, saying, "I realized how difficult it is to run an event. Nothing you do alone is an endeavor, so I learned the importance of working together with others and taking action on your own."

This year's university festival was positioned as part of the Faculty of Faculty of Commerce 's educational philosophy of "practical learning," and students were proactive in everything from the planning stage to running the event on the day. Participating students commented that "it was a valuable opportunity to interact directly with local people," and "it gave me a real sense of giving back to society through what I've learned."

Faculty of Commerce will continue to provide practical learning opportunities in collaboration with the local community and support the growth of students.
