Kyushu Sangyo University Faculty of Commerce and Kurume Commercial High School jointly promote "Chikugo Udon" at school festival

Professor Kenta Funaoka 's seminar in the Department of Department of Business and Marketing Faculty of Commerce, carried out promotional activities at each school's school festival (cultural festival) as part of the "New Chikugo Udon Menu Development Project for Vietnam" being carried out in collaboration with Kurume Commercial High School (Principal Seiji Toda).

In collaboration with the school's research project class (taught by teacher Atsushi Matsuo) on the theme of "Revitalizing Chikugo Udon," students from the seminar have been holding discussions with high school students about how to communicate the appeal of Chikugo Udon to the outside world in order to increase the number of fans.

Based on the proposals made in this discussion, the association worked with high school students to sell dried noodles, soup stock, and other products from Udon Jinsei Tamon, Takeya, and Tokubei Udon, all member stores of the Chikugo Udon Promotion Association, at the Hisashi Shosai Festival held on Saturday, October 4th. They also called for participation in the Chikugo Udon Stamp Rally for Vietnam, which runs until Saturday, December 20th. A pamphlet for the stamp rally was also created jointly by university students and high school students.

Furthermore, at the university's Kashii Festival Festival, held from November 1st (Saturday) to 3rd (Monday, national holiday), high school students came to support the school together with teacher Matsuo, selling Vietnamese-style teriyaki chicken udon, a Chikugo udon created for Vietnam by a Vietnamese student in Funaoka's seminar. One high school student who participated in the activities at Kashii Festival said, "Interacting with university students in the research project inspired me to want to participate in this project at university as well, and I am considering continuing my education."

Going forward, we will continue to promote the appeal of Chikugo udon both domestically and internationally through collaboration between high schools and universities through this project.
