On Tuesday, January 6th, 29 second- and third-year students from Associate Professor Katami Kata's seminar in the Department Department of Business and Marketing, Faculty of Faculty of Commerce, held a final report session on the Higashisonogi Service Area, which was implemented from November to December 2025, for officials from Takahashi Co., Ltd. (Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture), NEXCO West Japan Kyushu Branch (Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City), and Higashisonogi Town Hall (Nagasaki Prefecture).
This project, which took place in Chihaya Park in Gardens Chihaya (Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City), was a four-party collaboration to open a limited-time antenna shop with the aim of promoting the attractions of various parts of Kyushu. Students from Faculty of Art and Design were in charge of the interior design of the store and the creation of the logo and posters, while students from Faculty of Commerce ran the actual store, playing a role in deepening the ties between the region and the city.
At the briefing session, analysis results were shared for the town, which is promoting its attractions, as well as the Chihaya area, where the store was opened. Based on these results, the concept of "Operational Strategy to Increase Fans of Higashisonogi Town" was explained with actual examples. Furthermore, using the aggregated data, points that were improved during the implementation period were explained and marketing measures that can be used in other cases were proposed.
Each person in charge sent a message saying, "I imagine that running a store was very difficult, but the reports you received afterwards were also excellent. I think that the experience of working with companies and local governments as students is a great asset for you all. I hope that you will continue to value the process of practice and reflection, as you did this time."
