Visit to the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange in Vietnam!

On Friday, September 5th, 28 students from Professor Kenta Funaoka's seminar inthe Department of Department of Business and Marketing Faculty of Commerce, visited the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange in Vietnam.

On the day, after receiving an overview of the exchange from a representative, the students exchanged opinions on topics such as the relationship between the distribution of trading participants' attributes in the stock market and liquidity. * Students from the Funaoka Laboratory are conducting research on revitalizing the Fukuoka Stock Exchange, and this discussion at the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange was an opportunity to put to use the knowledge of capital markets they had gained through their seminar research.

Tomohiro Ueda (Kitachiku High School), a third-year student in the same department, reflected on the visit, saying, "When I was researching how to revitalize the Fukuoka Stock Exchange in the first half of this year, the question arose: 'What actions are needed to improve liquidity?' In relation to this question, my seminar had previously discussed what type of investor base should be attracted to the market in order to improve liquidity, so in this discussion I was able to convey my own thoughts on the topic."
