"Let's Make a Game Lab" event reaches 1,000 participants

KSU Project-based Education "Let's Make a Game Lab," a joint effort by students from Faculty of Science and Engineering and Engineering and Faculty of Art and Design, held an experiential event, "Mid Battle - Challenge Professor Midori!", at Kitakyushu Municipal Hibikinada Green Park (Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City).

This event was held twice, from September 13th (Sat) to 15th (Mon, holiday) and from October 11th (Sat) to 13th (Mon, holiday), 2025. It was a huge success, with over 1,000 people participating in total.

"Mid Battle" is an experiential event that combines education and fun, combining an animal quiz with an original racing game, themed around the animals that live in the tropical ecological park within the facility. At the October event, improvements were made to the racing game to support two-player play and to the quiz paper.

In a survey of participants, many said things like, "We learned new things about animals," and "My kids had fun and would like to participate again," making it an opportunity to deepen their understanding of tropical ecological parks and animals.

Ayaka Yamamoto (Jiyu Gakuen High School), a fourth-year student in the Department Department of Social Design Faculty of Art and Design and a member of this event, said, "It was impressive to see the visitors enjoying the quiz and becoming interested in the animals. I felt rewarded by being able to create an opportunity for learning through the game."

"Let's Make Games Lab" will continue to work to expand learning opportunities through games.
