
On Thursday, November 6th, a cybercrime prevention volunteer opinion exchange meeting was held online, sponsored by the National Police Agency, as part of the cybercrime volunteer activities being undertaken by Associate Professor Shunichi Ishida of the Faculty of Science and EngineeringDepartment of Information Science of Science and Engineering, and students from his laboratory.
The event was attended by 46 educational institutions and police-related organizations from around the country that are engaged in similar initiatives to our university. Three educational institutions reported on their activities, and the Miyagi Prefectural Police Headquarters presented a joint research project with the Japan Cybercrime Control Center (JC3) on AI-based cyber patrols, as well as an introduction to the activities of JC3.
Participant Bizen Kentaro (Fukuoka Seiryo High School), a third-year student, said, "I learned about the various initiatives being undertaken by each university and felt a sense of connection. I would like to continue working together to eradicate cybercrime." Another third-year student, Hiraishi Kazuki (Kasuga High School), said, "We have been conducting cyber patrol activities up until now, but after hearing this report, I learned how to expand our activities to local residents and elementary, junior high, and high school students, which has broadened our options for future activities."
