On Saturday, October 11th, students enrolled in the "Practical Planning Seminar" course taught by Associate Professor Shinya Shimoda of the Department of Economics, FacultyFaculty of Economics Economics, participated in the kick-off meeting for the industry-academia collaboration project "We Want to Fill Up Best Denki Stadium Project" at Best Denki Stadium (Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City).
Now in its second year, this project is a collaboration between Avispa Fukuoka, the team's sponsor Ajex Co., Ltd., and four universities in the prefecture, including our university, with approximately 70 students planning and implementing public relations strategies and merchandise promotions aimed at attracting the largest number of fans this season.
On the day of the meeting, all participants wore the same uniform, and representatives from each university presented their plans for the final home game of the season (Sunday, November 30th). They introduced various ideas to the stakeholders, such as promoting their team's cheer song, utilizing social media, and developing gifts for visitors.
From our university, 21 students, including first to fourth year students, worked in groups to plan "merchandise sales promotion plans," "SNS information dissemination," and "on-campus ticket sales." Rui Umeno (Yahata Chuo High School), a second-year student in the same department, gave a presentation on the current progress and an outline of the plan based on a campus survey, touching on last year's achievements.
In the second half, players Masaya Tashiro and Yu Hashimoto also attended and brushed up on the measures together with students and club officials. Our students directly asked the two players to help spread the word on social media and appear in a promotional video, which they readily agreed to.
Avispa Fukuoka's final home game of the 2025 season will be against Gamba Osaka on Sunday, November 30th. Let's fill the stands at Best Denki Stadium together with the students!
