A work by a student Faculty of Art and Design won an Honorable Mention and Supernova Award at the JUMP New World Manga Awards!

At the 103rd JUMP New World Manga Awards (October), sponsored by Shueisha Inc., "Even if the world ends tomorrow," written by Toyama Higurashi (pen name), a fourth-year student in the Department Department of Fine Arts and Media Sciences Faculty of Art and Design, won both an Honorable Mention and the Supernova Award.

This work is set in a world that is heading towards an apocalypse due to the fall of a meteorite, and depicts two boys as they work on writing a manga to submit to a publisher.

Toyama Higurashi, who focused on readability and the characters' expressions, said, "I feel I was lucky to have won this award. I will use this award as a step towards the future, switch my mindset and work on my next project."

The winning works can be viewed on Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump Manga Award Portal Site" and Shonen Jump+, and will also be published in Jump GIGA in the future.
