To coincide with the "Marine World Photo Aquarium" collaborative event with Marine World Umi-no-Nakamichi, which will be held at the Sony Store Tenjin from July 19th (Sat) to August 17th (Sun), a promotional video for the facility produced by students from the Department of Department of Photography and Imaging Arts Faculty of Art and Design will be screened at the same venue.
This initiative was made possible by a request from the "Sony Store Fukuoka Tenjin" and the full cooperation of Marine World Umi-no-Nakamichi. The students took a course on how to operate the professional camera "FX3" loaned by the company, and used the equipment to film. They attempted to capture the fantastic atmosphere unique to the aquarium and the dynamic appearance of the creatures from unique angles, and to create a visual expression that brings out the new charm of Marine World. The completed 12 4K promotional videos will be shown on a large 98-inch monitor in the TV corner on the first floor of the event venue during the event period.
Suematsu Yuku, a first-year student in the same department (Kyushu Sangyo University Kyushu High School), said, "I love aquariums and was interested in participating in this project, and I particularly chose my favorite creatures, jellyfish, as my subject. I was particular about capturing on film the mysterious atmosphere of the jellyfish glowing in the light, as well as the movement of their antennae and their detailed patterns, which could only be captured with a 4K camera. Although we filmed in darkness, which I had never experienced before, it was a great experience to learn filming techniques appropriate to the situation. I hope that the 'slowness' of the jellyfish flowing in the water will relax you, and that after watching the video, it will inspire you to actually visit Marine World."
Please be sure to stop by if you are in the area.
