Experience "wearing spring" in Tenjin. Kyushu Sangyo University are currently exhibiting an interactive installation decorated with mirrors and flowers.

Until Thursday, March 26th, second and third-year students from the Department Department of Living Environment Design Faculty of Art and Design, are exhibiting a gorgeous floral display in front of the Mirai Hiroba (Future Plaza) in the Electric Building Co-creation Hall (Watanabe-dori, Chuo-ku) as part of an industry-academia collaboration project with Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. Fukuoka Branch, with which they have a comprehensive partnership agreement. This display coincides with the Fukuoka City-sponsored event, "Fukuoka Flower Show 2026".

The theme is "Wearing Spring." The artwork consists of three flower walls and a central pillar, with numerous mirrors attached to each flower wall. The installation makes it appear as if the viewer's reflection in the mirrors is adorned with flowers. The students carefully designed the arrangement, taking into account the reflections in the mirrors, so that a wide range of viewers could enjoy it. Some of the artificial flowers decorating the flower walls were also handmade by the students.

Yuka Hiwatari (3rd year/Arita Technical High School), one of the project members, said, "By incorporating 'convex mirrors' that uniquely reflect the scenery in addition to ordinary mirrors, we created a space where the cityscape of Fukuoka and its people become one." Riaki Sasaki (3rd year/Kasuga High School) added, "Spring marks the beginning of a new season, so I hope this work will brighten everyone's spirits and make them feel positive."

Please feel free to stop by if you're in the area.
