Shigaumi Shrine "Tanabata Festival" Management Project is still active this year

Continuing from last year, third-year students studying in the seminars of Professor Suematsu Tsuyoshi,Department of Regional Development Faculty of Collaborative Regional Development, Faculty of Regional Collaboration, and Professor Nagamatsu Takefumi,Department of Tourism are working to cooperate in the management of the Tanabata Festival, which will be held at Shikanoumi Shrine (Shikanoshima, Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City) from Wednesday, August 6th to Thursday, August 7th. Currently, they are working in a room on campus to create bamboo lanterns to decorate the approach to the shrine grounds. On the day of the festival, they will be in charge of setting up the bamboo lanterns and decorating the Tanabata decorations, and will welcome visitors together with local residents.

Souji Tanaka (Kyushu Sangyo High School), a third-year student Department of Regional Development the same faculty, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "There is currently a shortage of young talent in the region, so I hope to contribute to the community through my seminar activities, raise awareness of festival events, and help revitalize the region."
