We are currently developing a Fukuoka tourism promotion project in collaboration with industry and academia!

Starting in April 2025, students from the Shimada Ryu seminarDepartment of Tourism Faculty of Collaborative Regional Development, will be working with Fukuoka Transportation Co., Ltd. (Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City), a tourist taxi operator, on a project to boost the local Fukuoka tourism industry.

On Tuesday, September 2nd, the flyer "Fukuoka Tourism News: Fukuoka Kotsu x Kyushu Sangyo University Collaboration Edition," which was produced by five third-year students from the seminar with the cooperation of the printing company Umi Consult (Kasuya-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture), was finally completed.

The flyer features a special feature on Fukuoka, where students who call themselves "ramen lovers" introduce "Fukuoka's Best Bowl." The theme was devised by the students to attract the interest of many people. The students themselves visited each ramen shop to interview them, and spoke frankly about the taste and the state of the shop, making it a feature that is typical of students.

Yuka Yamada (Genkai High School), a third-year student who served as the project leader, said, holding a flyer in hand, "We came up with this special feature because we wanted to let tourists, as well as people who live in Fukuoka, learn more about ramen, which is one of the attractions of our hometown Fukuoka. The members of the group worked together to come up with ideas on how to present delicious photos and how to write descriptions of the stores. We would be very happy if those who pick up the flyer feel more familiar with Fukuoka and find their trip even a little more enjoyable."

In the Shimada Ryu Seminar, students will continue to deepen their learning in the field of practical tourism, such as creating maps aimed at promoting tourism in Fukuoka and devising tours around the city.
