Graduate students report on development progress at the "5th Collaborative Matching Event: Construction DX"

A graduate student Kyushu Sangyo University presents their research findings at the "5th Collaboration Matching Event: Construction DX".

On August 19th (Wednesday), graduate students from the Graduate Graduate School of Information Science participated in the "5th Collaborative Matching Event Construction DX" hosted by Fukuoka City, and presented on the "Heatstroke Risk Warning System" that they are currently demonstrating at construction sites in the city.

This event was held with the aim of sharing advanced initiatives by companies and research institutions to solve problems and improve productivity at construction sites using digital technology.

Graduate School of Information Science and the Koichiro Tanaka Laboratory in the Faculty of Science Faculty of Science and Engineering are conducting research and development on a "heatstroke risk warning system." This system acquires data such as temperature, humidity, and CO2 concentration using environmental sensors installed around construction sites, and measures the heart rate of workers using wearable sensors to comprehensively assess the risk of heatstroke. By calculating a simulated WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature) from the environmental information and displaying the acquired data on an administrator screen and a worker application, the system aims to prevent heatstroke.

In this presentation, with the cooperation of the city, we reported on the system's overview, demonstration results, and development status to date. Going forward, we expect to advance on-site verification and data analysis using wearable sensors, contributing to the improvement of safety management at construction sites.

Going forward, we will continue to collaborate with companies and local governments to promote research and development utilizing digital technologies such as AI and IoT, and strive to create practical research results that contribute to solving social issues.
