On Wednesday, July 1st, nine students from the Student Association's Five-Part Executive Committee, which supports student autonomy and extracurricular activities, collaborated with the Fukuoka City Health and Medical Bureau's Public Health Center's Regional Health Department, Medical Affairs and Hygiene Promotion Division, to conduct a "Drug Abuse Prevention Campaign" aimed at raising awareness about drug abuse prevention. This initiative is an awareness campaign that the bureau conducts annually at various universities for university students and others before their summer break.
The students, along with Fukuoka City officials and university staff, distributed awareness-raising materials such as pamphlets and disinfectant wipes. The disinfectant wipes were designed by students from the university's Faculty of Art and Design for this awareness campaign.
Yuka Ishigami (Kashii High School), a second-year student in the Department Faculty of Collaborative Regional Development Department of Regional Development Regional Co-creation, who participated in the event, said, "Distributing awareness-raising goods together with members of external organizations was a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the importance of cooperation. I hope that those who receive the goods will be more aware of drug abuse prevention by seeing the message, 'No. Absolutely not.'"
Our university is engaged in ongoing awareness-raising activities, such as holding lectures on drug abuse prevention by the Fukuoka Prefectural Police and allowing students to watch educational videos produced by the university during classes.
