Soccer club members volunteer to support recovery efforts in Fukutsu City

On Saturday, August 30th, members of our university's soccer club volunteered to help with recovery efforts at Kuwano Farm (Fukutsu City, Fukuoka Prefecture), which was hit by heavy rain caused by a linear precipitation band in August.

The activity involved making and transporting sandbags to remove soil and sand that had flowed into the cabbage fields. The members worked together in a relay format to efficiently transport the sandbags, and carried many sandbags around the fields.

The club members showed a positive attitude, saying, "Through this activity, I was able to once again realize the importance of volunteer work," and "We will use this experience as motivation to work hard at our daily training."

The farm staff said, "We were helped by the energy of young people. We are truly grateful."

Our university sincerely hopes for a speedy recovery for those affected by the disaster, and will continue to work closely with the local community.
