Our university's professional wrestling club held a summer joint training camp at Okusu Arena 2020 for three days from Friday, August 1st to Sunday, August 3rd. This time, approximately 30 students from professional wrestling clubs from eight universities, including our university, Aichi University, Kanagawa University, Kurume Institute of Technology, Seinan Gakuin University, Takushoku University, Doshisha University, and Ritsumeikan University, gathered. Five female wrestlers, including one from our university, also participated.
Our university is one of the few universities in Japan to have a permanent ring at Okusu Arena 2020. Taking advantage of this favorable environment, the training camp included a wide range of activities, from basic training to practical sparring, providing a valuable opportunity for students to learn from each other's unique techniques and styles.
Graduates of the university's professional wrestling club also participated in the training, and through the exchange of techniques with current students, connections were made across generations. The advice from the graduates based on their experience was inspiring for all participants, further livening up the atmosphere of the training camp.
Our university's Pro Wrestling Research Club will continue to actively exchange with other universities, deepen bonds between students, and contribute to the development of pro wrestling culture.
