This time, the course has been significantly revamped, with the swim, bike, and run all taking place on Shikanoshima Island. In addition to being held on the historic island, another feature of the event is that student volunteers and people with disabilities are also participating as para-volunteers.

The students, who had received advance training as volunteers, worked at a total of three end stations on the day of the race, as well as helping with a wide range of other tasks, including managing the finish line and cleaning up the beach used as the swim venue.

Kyotaro Takei (Tokai University Sagami High School), a third-year student in the Department of Business and Marketing Faculty of Commerce, who participated in the volunteer activity, reflected, "People of a wide range of ages participated in the triathlon, and their enthusiasm to take on the challenge was apparent from their expressions, demeanor, and behavior. Their enthusiasm made me feel excited and motivated to do my best in volunteer activities. It was an activity that gave me a great sense of accomplishment after it was over."
