43 Faculty of Commerce students take on corporate challenges! Industry-academia collaboration project with Mitsubishi Motors.

Third-year students in the seminars of Professor Hee-Tak Ahn and Professor Yukiko Waki of Faculty of Commerce Department of Business and Marketing Commerce, are working on an industry-academia collaboration project with Kyushu Mitsubishi Motors Sales Co., Ltd. (Fukuoka City).

This project, which started in 2024, is an initiative in which companies and students jointly consider what makes a company "of choice" from a student's perspective.

This year's common theme is "What makes a car dealership chosen by Generation Z?" In April, an orientation was held, which included a company tour of Kyushu Mitsubishi Motors Sales' headquarters, training center, and dealerships. Afterwards, the 43 students were divided into 8 groups to determine sub-themes and proceed with their research.

In the classes held from late June to early July, students will give a pre-presentation to the recruitment staff of Kyushu Mitsubishi Motors Sales Co., Ltd. in preparation for the interim report meeting. On June 30th (Tuesday), in the Waki Seminar class, students presented their analysis results based on existing surveys on Gen Z's views on companies and careers, as well as data on the use of information gathering tools, which form the foundation of their research. They also explained the research topic and future directions. In response, company representatives and the supervising professor offered advice on research perspectives, how to deepen the analysis, and how to create effective presentation materials.

Moving forward, we will further develop our research and present our progress at an interim report meeting in July. We will then continue our investigations and analyses, and at the final presentation in December, we plan to make recommendations to companies based on our findings. Companies are expressing high expectations for proposals derived from a student's unique perspective.
