On Tuesday, September 1st, Professor Shim Woo-hyun and students from Kyushu Sangyo University, Zokei Junior College of Art and Design paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Hiramatsu Shuichi to report the completion of "Iicchanai," a digital brochure they created about local products of Sue Town (Kasuya District, Fukuoka Prefecture).
The production of this pamphlet was carried out as part of an initiative based on a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the town and our university (signed in December 2023), at the request of the Hometown Support Division. Professor Shen and 10 students conducted interviews and photographs of 28 businesses in the town from September 2025, and the 46-page pamphlet was completed in May 2026. The title, "Iicchanai," is a Fukuoka dialect word meaning "Isn't that okay?" It was adopted as the title to represent the charm of Sue, a town where the open-mindedness and warmth of its people encourage people to take on challenges with the motto "Let's just try it."
Mayor Hiramatsu said, "I am truly grateful to the students for creating such a wonderful pamphlet that captures all the charm of Sue Town, utilizing their creativity. We will make it the centerpiece of our city promotion efforts to let many people across the country know about Sue."
Yosen Suzuka, a second-year student from Kyushu Sangyo University High School who lives in Sue Town and was involved in the production as a model and photographer, said, "I am very happy to be able to be involved with my hometown of Sue through my studies. I hope that many people will see the pamphlet and that it will be an opportunity for them to feel the charm of Sue."
The pamphlet has been available on the town's website since mid-August of this year. Printed copies of the pamphlet will also be distributed to businesses in Sue Town that cooperated with the filming, and will be used for promotional purposes.
