On Saturday, June 6th, our university's Career Support Center hosted the "Fukuoka Stock Exchange FPM Listed Companies: 8 Companies Joint Job Fair," co-sponsored by the Fukuoka Stock Exchange and Kenta Funaoka's Laboratory Faculty of Commerce.
This briefing session was presented by eight companies listed on the Fukuoka PRO Market *, a stock market for growth companies on the Fukuoka Stock Exchange, and was managed by students from the Funaoka Laboratory, which is engaged in research on revitalizing the Fukuoka Stock Exchange.
On the day of the event, 70 students from all faculties and departments, ranging from first to fourth year, participated. The event began with an opening address by Mr. Hidenori Inoue, Executive Director of the Fukuoka Stock Exchange, and the students had the opportunity to listen to presentations from companies of interest throughout the four sessions, giving them a chance to connect with each company.
Mei Fukuda (Kurume Commercial High School) and Hana Matsukawa (Chubu Commercial High School), both second-year students in the research lab who were in charge of meetings with the Fukuoka Stock Exchange and publicizing the event on social media, reflected on their activities, saying, "This was our first time being involved in running a job fair, and interacting with company representatives was a very refreshing experience. We started our social media presence with zero followers, and we are very happy that so many students were able to participate on the day thanks to our efforts in creating promotional videos. We would like to utilize this experience of collaborating with various organizations in our future activities."
The research lab will continue its work towards proposing ideas to revitalize this market.
