On August 31st (Monday), second-year students in Faculty of Science and Engineering held a presentation of their projects for the SMArtFusion course "Fusion Project I," with Douglas Weber, a visiting professor in the same faculty and a product designer, serving as a judge.
The subject is SMArtFusion program This will be carried out as part of the initiative. Techno Art Project PBL type * This is an exercise. Through group project creation, students will learn project management skills, problem-solving skills, and how to utilize the expertise of each department. The aim is to develop practical skills such as progress management, communication, and presentation, as well as the collaborative and adaptable skills necessary for working professionals.
This year's theme for "Fusion Project I" was "A work that expresses what time means to you." On the day of the event, each team presented the concept, function, and structure of their work. All six teams presented works that showcased their free creativity, including those that likened the flow of time to waves, those that represented time through the changing sky, and those that combined a deer scarer with LED lights, all accompanied by demonstrations.
Mr. Douglas commented on the specifications and design of each piece, saying, "Manufacturing requires a mindset of wanting to give shape to what you are interested in and to create something good. I hope that you will use this experience to continue challenging yourselves in manufacturing."
Participating students shared comments such as, "There were times when it was difficult to proceed with the work on my own, so I want to acquire a broad range of knowledge in fields outside my specialization so that I can handle such situations," and "Because it was a short-term project, I learned the importance of scheduling so that I can respond to unforeseen circumstances."
