Learn about the new form of sports business being promoted by Avispa Fukuoka

Four guest speakers from Fukuoka City took the stage. Professor Ueno has been an advisor to Avispa Fukuoka since 2021.

In the lecture, themed "A new form of sports business promoted by Avispa Fukuoka," Ryo Sagawa, Executive Officer of the Regional Innovation Strategy Department/Business Support Department at Avispa Fukuoka, first introduced the club's history and business activities. He explained the need to establish diversified business pillars, including not only sponsorship advertising, admission fees, and merchandise revenue, but also the digital domain and building business partners in Asia.

In the latter half of the lecture, they introduced "Sharen!*", one of Avispa Fukuoka's initiatives. In addition to programming classes for children, they actively engage in sustainability activities that the J.League is focusing on, and spoke about the importance of working to solve social problems as a community-based football club.

Furthermore, Shota Yano, Chief of the Business Support Department, Naoki Yoshida of the Regional Innovation Strategy Department, and Mayu Takesue, an alumna of the university, introduced examples of the club's activities, including community collaboration, disaster prevention activities, environmental conservation, and social collaboration activities.

Mr. Sagawa said, "One of the reasons we address social issues is our desire for students to live fulfilling lives. If there are any students who want to take on a challenge with us, please join us in our activities."

* Sharen!: Social collaboration activities. Activities in which the J.League and J.Clubs work together with local residents, businesses and organizations (both for-profit and non-profit), local governments, schools, etc. to address social issues and shared themes (education, diversity, urban development, etc.).
