On Monday, June 29th, graduate students taking the Master's course "Special Lecture on Intercultural Management" (taught by Professor Koichi Nagata Faculty of Commerce) visited Cow Television Co., Ltd. (Fukuoka City), a video production company, and conducted interview research on the theme of "Exploring ways of working in a multicultural environment."
On the day of the event, seven graduate students and research students from Japan, Vietnam, and China who are enrolled in this course participated. In addition to interviews with the company's President and CEO, Yasunori Takahashi, they deepened their understanding of the realities and challenges of collaboration in a multicultural environment through interviews with foreign employees and Japanese employees. This direct contact with on-the-ground voices provided a valuable opportunity for them to proactively consider the meaning of working in a global society and the nature of intercultural coexistence.
The participating graduate students shared their impressions, saying things like, "Through the interview survey, I realized that companies are becoming increasingly globalized," and "The preparation was challenging, but it was a meaningful time as I was able to learn many things."
Afterward, the students submitted a report to the company and provided the following feedback: "Normally, as reporters, we work to objectively explore and communicate the appeal of companies, but this time, we are very pleased that the students were able to uncover the value of our company that even we ourselves were unaware of."
In this course, we will continue to conduct research on a variety of companies and use that knowledge to disseminate information.
