Volleyball club exchanges with Kyungil University in Korea

On Saturday, February 21st and Tuesday, February 24th, the men's and women's volleyball teams played friendly matches against Keiichi University (Korea) at our university arena.

The players played with the same tension as in an official match, demonstrating impressive performances against the overseas teams. In between matches, they also communicated in Korean and with gestures, overcoming language and cultural barriers.

The team's male captain, Shiho Kataoka (3rd year student, Department Department of Childhood Education Faculty of Human Sciences /Josuikan High School), reflected on the exchange, saying, "We are filled with gratitude to everyone at Keiichi University for accepting our offer to play in the friendly match. I think the team gained a lot not only in terms of volleyball but also in terms of communication. The Keiichi University students were also proactive in talking to us even outside of matches, and I felt they were a really good team."

The team's female captain, Narazaki Koharu (2nd year student Faculty of Human Sciences Department of Childhood Education Human Sciences / Fukuoka University Wakaba High School), said, "Keiichi University's height and attacking rhythm are different to ours, so there was a lot we could learn from them as a team. After the match, the women's teams held a social gathering on campus and were able to talk a lot about the cultures of both countries. Their playing style, which is different from that of domestic teams, was very stimulating, and we hope to continue this kind of exchange in the future."
