Our university students are participating in a short-term study abroad program at the Griffith University Language School!

From Wednesday, February 4th to Sunday, March 1st, 31 students from our university participated in a short-term language training program at the Griffith University Language School in Australia.

This program aims to improve English language proficiency, as well as foster multicultural understanding and independence.

The participating students were divided into level-based classes at the school and engaged in practical lessons focusing on listening and speaking, honing their ability to express their opinions in English.

After school and on weekends, we experienced Australia's unique nature and culture, deepening our learning in an environment where we were exposed to authentic English outside the classroom. Furthermore, interacting with international students from other countries provided us with a valuable opportunity to encounter diverse values.

The stay was conducted in a homestay format, allowing students to experience Australian culture and customs that they couldn't learn in the classroom alone, through daily conversations, meals, and weekend outings with their host families.

Yoshikazu Kodama (2nd year student, Department of Mechanical Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty Faculty of Science and Engineering Engineering / Fukushima High School), who participated in the program, reflected, "Through studying abroad, I deeply felt the importance of taking on challenges. The experiences I gained that I could only have there, the connections I made, and the new values I acquired are valuable in many ways and I am confident that they will have a great impact on my future life. At first, I had many anxieties, but if I hadn't taken the plunge and challenged myself, I wouldn't have had this experience. I will continue to live my life without fear of challenges and believing in myself."
