On Monday, June 1st, at the "Environment Month Kick-off Event and Campaign to Eliminate Illegal Dumping" held at Hakata Station Square (Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City), Faculty Faculty of Commerce Department of Business Administration and Distribution Associate Professor Hou Lijuan He received an award from Fukuoka Prefecture Vice Governor Ryosuke Ikushima as a contributor to environmental conservation in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Associate Professor Hou, who specializes in environmental marketing and environmentally conscious consumer behavior, has been conducting research and social outreach activities on environmental labels *1 and ethical consumption *2 since around 2010. Her research from the perspective of co-creating environmental value between companies and consumers, and her contributions to promoting understanding of environmentally conscious consumption and realizing a sustainable society through a series of activities including cooperation with the Consumer Affairs Agency's hearing surveys, have been recognized.
Upon receiving the award, Associate Professor Hou stated, "I am deeply honored to receive the Fukuoka Prefecture Governor's Commendation for Distinguished Service in Environmental Conservation. This award is a testament to the hard work I have put in with the faculty and staff who have supported my research and educational activities, my collaborators, the local community, government, and businesses, and my students. Encouraged by this award, I will continue to give back my research results to society and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society and the development of the next generation of talent through my research and educational activities in environmental marketing."
