From September 17th (Thursday) to 21st (Monday), our university's "Game Creation Lab," one of our project-based educational programs, exhibited at "Tokyo Game Show 2026," held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama Ward, Chiba City). This was our third consecutive year exhibiting at the event.
The Game Creation Lab is an educational activity where students develop skills such as programming, design, and game design, as well as communication and presentation skills, through team-based game development. Students engage in practical creation through progress report meetings, monthly presentations, and exhibitions and shows both on and off campus.
At the booth, five works were showcased: "Chu-Chu Pancakes" and "Another Blue," which were developed in previous years, as well as this year's new works, "One-Person Operation!? Fast Food Restaurant," "ERASER ADVENTURE," and "GLOOM RAIN." Visitors were able to try out the games, and participating students explained the planning, development process, and production techniques, highlighting the appeal of each work.
During the business days, representatives from the gaming industry, as well as educators from high schools, universities, and vocational schools, video media professionals, and PC-related equipment sales companies visited our booth. We exchanged opinions with approximately 300 people over the two days, introducing our university's educational content and the activities of our lab, and receiving evaluations and advice on our work.
On the open day, we introduced our activities and student works to a large number of visitors. Through interaction with a wide range of people, including those interested in game development and junior and senior high school students aiming for creative fields in the future, we conveyed the value of learning at our university.
Participating in one of Japan's largest game events provided an opportunity to widely disseminate the results of students' learning and to deepen new connections with the game industry.
