This project, guided by Professor Nobuhiro Ushimi of the Department of Smart Communication Engineering, Faculty Faculty of Science and Engineering, is a practical educational project in which students take the lead in designing, manufacturing, controlling, and improving robots. Students from humanities and arts fields, not just science and engineering, participate, and this cross-faculty and departmental approach is one of the distinctive practices that symbolizes the integration of humanities, sciences, and arts at our university.
This appearance marks a remarkable achievement for the project, marking their second attempt. Based on the lessons learned and experiences from their previous attempt, the team has revised the robot's design and control methods, continuously making improvements. As a result, they have been selected as one of the 18 schools to advance to the main competition, after passing the first and second rounds of selections among many teams from across the country. The main competition will be held on Sunday, June 14th at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo.
One of the members, Tenyu Nakamura (Fukuoka Institute of Technology High School), a third-year student in the Department of Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty Faculty of Science and Engineering Engineering, said, "I'm so happy that we've been selected to participate. I'm thrilled to be able to stand on the stage I've dreamed of for so long. We will do our best to make improvements until the main competition, so please support us."
Our university will continue to promote the development of individuals with creativity and problem-solving skills through project-based education that combines the expert guidance of faculty members with the proactive challenges of students.
