On Monday, March 23rd, Kotaro Sakaki, a third-year student Department of Photography and Imaging Arts Faculty of Art and Design (Koga Kyoseikan High School), received the "Light Art Award" at the "6th National Online Art Festival (2025)".
This festival is organized by the National Online Art Festival Executive Committee and is an online art festival where works from diverse fields of expression, such as photography, video, and computer graphics, are submitted from all over Japan.
The award-winning work, "SAKAKI" (CG), centers around a motif that is a variation of the artist's name, and expresses the artist's own personality and symbolic elements through the background and colors. Created while confronting the artist's inner self, this work is a reflection of the artist themselves, giving viewers the impression that they are looking directly at the artist.
Regarding the award, Sakaki commented, "I mainly work on 3DCG production, and for this piece, I focused on expressing the reflection and transparency of objects reminiscent of soap bubbles and balloons. I carefully designed the placement and composition of each element, so I am very happy that it has been recognized. In the future, I would like to further broaden my range of expression and aim to become a creator."
