Kotaro Sakaki (Koga Kyoseikan High School), a third-year Department of Photography and Imaging Arts Faculty of Art and Design, has achieved outstanding results in multiple contests for his video production work.
At "FILM SHOW DOWN 2026," a competition organized by "Atreyu Family," a community of video creators that focuses on independently produced films and showcases the expressive and communicative abilities of creators, I won the Grand Prix with my work "GET LOST."
Furthermore, in the "Videos That Convey Their Message in Just 3 Shots" video competition, organized by Talent List Co., Ltd., which tests expressiveness and compositional skills within the constraint of a limited three-shot format, Sakaki's work "Hide & Seek" received an honorable mention (jury prize). Sakaki's work was praised for its high level of video technology, including camerawork, use of light, and editing tempo, as well as for its creation of a unique worldview.
Regarding the double award, Sakaki commented, "I aimed to create a work that depicts a world where unrealistic beings blend into everyday life, allowing viewers to feel the boundary between reality and unreality. I believe that video has the power to express a world that does not exist in reality without feeling out of place, and to draw viewers into the extraordinary. Through this production, I reaffirmed the fun and difficulty of bringing a single work to life, from planning and shooting to editing and completion. In the future, I would like to learn a wide range of expressions, not just video, and aim to become a creator who can handle everything from planning to completion."
