The 38th Japan Finswimming Championships were held at Yokohama International Pool (Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture) from May 9th (Sat) to 10th (Sun), with the women's individual 400m surface event taking place. ^*1 in, swimming club Hinako Wakao (Faculty of Collaborative Regional Development Department of Tourism A 4th-year student from Yamazaki High School won third place. In addition, Wakao placed fourth in the 200m Surface and 50m CMAS Bifin in the women's individual events at the same competition. ^*2 But they achieved a good result, coming in 5th place.

Wakao said, "This was my last competition as a university student, so I made sure to give my all in every practice session along with my teammates. I'm a little disappointed with the result, but I plan to continue competing even after I become a working adult, so I will continue to practice hard to achieve an even higher ranking."
